Choose one of the seven themed stone carving weekends, based in my Chilterns studio.
Learn from scratch. No need to bring any artistic skill along with you, as this will be developed (I promise you, it will) as you progress.
We shall study real world stone carved examples of the theme (there's no shame in copying what's already out there), and unravel their complexities before sketching your chosen example. And then to hammer and chisel !!
Design templates are provided, but students are welcome to bring in their own favourites.
Our stone carving courses are so good for you, that they now feature as one of the activities offered by Reading Green Wellbeing Network.
By the end of the course you will have completed your stone sculpture, and be equipped with the knowledge of how to continue with your new-found skill at home (or in my studio, if you prefer).
So
you will leave the beautiful studio location with your finished piece,
on Sunday evening, knowing how to create a workstation at home, how to
locate stone, where to buy tools, how to progress your skill.
After
the course, students are very welcome to return to the studio as often
as they need to, to finesse their work - FOR FREE !!
All materials and safety glasses are provided.
Hot and cold drinks and biscuits (usually cake too).
Pic-nic area.
Washroom facilities.
The stunningly beautiful Chiltern Hills and woodlands start right here - so maybe a lunchtime stroll ?
